May. 23rd, 2016 05:25 pmAt the time of Desmond's death, he was carrying Ezio Auditore's Apple of Eden. Thanks Desmond having an usually high concentration of First Civilization DNA, he can use the Apple with no ill effects on his own health. As a result, Desmond can, if he chooses, use the Apple of Eden to control the mind of anyone in his vicinity (within 50 or so yards), or cause them intense pain or death. The only way to avoid this is if a person has a particularly strong will, or is similarly genetically endowed.
Additionally, Desmond has Eagle Vision, which is described as being similar to a Sixth Sense, and allows Desmond to determine if a person is a friend (they will glow blue when Desmond looks at them) or foe (will glow Red), or are otherwise a Person of Interest in whatever Desmond is currently pursuing (will glow Gold).
So, comment here regarding whether or not your character could and would be controlled by the Apple of Eden. Please? Also mention what color they might be if Desmond was to look at them with Eagle Vision.

Name: Desmond Miles
Canon: Assassin’s Creed
Canon Point: Right as he’s activating the First Civilization device to protect the Earth from the Coronal Mass Ejection, at the end of Assassin's Creed III.
Age: 25
Type of Character: Canon
Reference: http://assassinscreed.wikia.com/wiki/Desmond_Miles
Setting Concepts:
Desmond’s world is pretty much the same as the “real” world, with a few key differences. First, most of the major conflicts in human history were actually fought between the Assassins, and the Templars. The former believing in the preservation of human free will, and the latter believing that human free will can’t be trusted, and therefore seek to control people. The second key difference is that humans as a species were actually bred as a slave labor class for a race of advanced humanoid beings known as “The First Civilization”, who in turn created a variety of artifacts (known colloquially as “Pieces of Eden”), which have a variety of effects, but most were used to control the human population and make them docile.
When Desmond comes into the story, the Assassin-Templar conflict has been going on for over a thousand years, and he is just the latest victim, having been raised as an Assassin, and is kidnapped by the Templars. He’s placed into a machine called the Animus, which has the ability to read his DNA, and allow him to experience a simulation of his ancestral memories, beginning with Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, as the Templars (now known as Abstergo Industries) are searching for Pieces of Eden, and the best way to locate them is to look into the past, when they were hidden. He would later live through the memories of Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Haytham Kenway, and Connor Kenway on behalf of the Assassins, for the same reason.
As a result of his exposure to the Animus, Desmond’s inherited ability of “Eagle Vision” is activated via a condition known as “The Bleeding Effect”, which allows Desmond to learn the skills of his ancestors, while also being subject to interjections of their memories when he is both sleeping and awake. This enables him to both tell friend from foe, as well as read messages hidden for him by his predecessor, Clay Kaczmarek, who warns him that things aren’t what they seem. He also inherited the freerunning (a style of movement emphazising acrobatic movement and climbing) from Ezio Auditore, and dual-weapon wielding (a dagger in addition to his hidden blade) as well as hunting and tracking skills from Connor Kenway.
Personality:
Desmond’s life has been one of chaos and distrust. Between running from the Assassin Order at a young age (due to his father, the Mentor of the Assassin Order, never telling him anything about the Assassin-Templar conflict, nor anything about the Templars themselves), to being kidnapped by Abstergo (the modern incarnation of the Templars) so that they could exploit his ancestral line and learn the locations of the Pieces of Eden.
As a result of his experiences, Desmond can come off as cagey and confrontational, wanting to know if a person is interested in him himself, or his skills or his ancestry. When he trusts a person, however, a whole different side of him emerges. He’s shown to be witty and sarcastic, and more than willing to crack a joke, no matter how serious his circumstances might be.
As he matures through the series, Desmond is shown having gained the wisdom regarding the “true” interpretation of the “Assassin’s Creed”, that if “nothing is true”, then a person has to trust their own judgement to see the world as it truly is, and if “everything is permitted”, then it’s up to each person individually to accept the consequences of their actions. Once he learns that saving the world is dependent on him sacrificing his life, he accepts his fate, urging his friends to flee, while he does what needs to be done.
Appearance:
Desmond was facemodeled by French-Canadian model Francisco Randez, so he looks like this:

Additionally, Desmond has a large burn scar on the palm of his right hand, as a result of his exposure to the First Civilization “Eye”, which he activated to save the world.
Abilities:
Desmond has all of the typical abilities of an Assassin. He is capable of freerunning, enabling him to climb buildings and take unconventional routes, depending on the architecture available to him. He also gained “Eagle Vision” via his exposure to the Animus, enabling him to tell friend from foe (as they will glow blue or red, respectively), and people of vital importance will glow gold. He is also capable of seeing messages hidden by other Assassins. Finally, he gained extensive hunting and tracking abilities from Connor Kenway, enabling him to track a target using Eagle Vision, even if he can’t see his target. He was also trained in eavesdropping and pickpocketing, enabling him to gain information without being seen.
Desmond also has the ability to use Pieces of Eden without adverse effect, as he has a high enough concentration of First Civilization DNA to do so.
Inventory:
1 set of clothes (t-shirt, jeans, underwear, socks, shoes, hoodie, and shoulder-sling backpack)
1 hidden blade with leather bracer
1 serrated combat knife
1 9mm Pistol, with 11 shots remaining in its clip
1 smartphone
1 Apple of Eden
Soul Gem:
A replica of the Grand Temple Key on a leather cord.

Third Person:
Desmond knew he was about as far from home as he could get, but for whatever reason, he felt more at home on the back of the turtle than he’d ever care to admit to. Between how friendly the locals were, to how freerun-friendly all of the buildings were, it was like Keelai had been made for him. Sure, he got into the occasional trouble with the Snakes (their thieves, in particular, didn’t care for him intruding on their turf), but beyond that, life was peachy.
How much of that had to do with the large burn scar on the palm of his right hand, Desmond couldn’t guess. There was a certain amount of freedom it granted him, psychologically. He’d died once already, and he did it to save the world, no less! Everything after that was just a bonus, as far as he was concerned. That’s why he took to most activities, whether it was freerunning around the city as a mailman/courier, or using his Eagle Vision to track the city’s criminals, with uncommon gusto. He’d spent so long running from who he was, trying to live a life that wasn’t truly his, that he’d never truly had the chance to enjoy anything. Now? He had that chance, and Desmond would be damned if he wasn’t going to grab it with both hands.

Hello? Is this thing on?
[Desmond blows into the receiver to test if it’s even picking him up.]
So I got the whole “Welcome to the back of a giant turtle” spiel, and…well, it is the weirdest thing I’ve ever heard, but honestly…not by too wide of a margin.
[He pauses, trying to parse his thoughts.]
Anyway, I guess I’m just curious what we’re all doing here? I mean…this isn’t the first time I’ve been kidnapped or whatever, but when it happened the first time, my kidnappers told me what they wanted from me, at least. It’d be nice to know what the point of all of this is, with the fancy jewelry and stuff.
Oh, my name’s Desmond, by the way. Desmond Miles. If anyone needs something taken somewhere in a hurry, I’m your guy.
